More Parisian Sitings

Hello all,

As usual, I'm behind. I'm leaving for Dublin in about 4 hours (we have to get up around 5 am to catch a bus to take us to an airport outside of Paris to take a flight...to Dublin!) However, I decided that I must update this a bit, considering a lot has happened...

Anyway, the first set of pictures were from 2 weekends ago, when Anne, Judy, and I had a picnic at the Eiffel Tower (while it was still nice) and then proceeded to climb it in the rain. Luckily, this city is so beautiful that even in gloomy weather, the views are gorgeous.

Me with my heart-shaped bread, sending my love to all of you :-)

not a bad place to picnic...

Anne and I during our picnic

You can see the Musée d'Orsay on the right...and the Sacré Coeur all the way at the horizon in the center.

This is the ONLY skyscraper in the city, located in the 14th arrondissement (where I live), and I think the general sentiment toward it is that it's ugly.

Oh hey, Gustave Eiffel!

The beautiful Seine, of course.

Now, I'll transition to my second visit to Montmartre. You may recognize this area from my post about orientation. One morning, Anne and I didn't have our grammar class, so we decided to pay a visit to the Sacré Coeur (the inside as well this time). Sadly, we weren't allowed to take pictures of the interior, but surprisingly, it wasn't as ornate as you'd think, so really, trust me when I say you're missing out on any spectacular pictures. (Of course, it's beautiful, but I think the exterior is far more grand...)

On our way, stopped at Le Mur Je t'aime again. This time, I found "Je t'aime"!!

Anne writing her and her boyfriend's initials on the wall... :-)
The fact that it was raining made it easier for her to get away with it.

The carousel at the bottom of the hill in front of the Sacré Coeur. You may recognize it from the movie Amelie...

So beautiful.

I've heard this is the best [free] view of the city.

...oh, and by the way, the picture at the top of this post is me in front of the
Sacré Coeur, incase you didn't pick up on it.

A bientôt!
